Interstate 81 near Martinsburg, West Virginia was closed for several hours on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 due to an accident involving multiple vehicles. At last report, there were 44 vehicles involved and there were two fatalities.
State Police said wind and heavy snow contributed to the accident.
It is best not to drive in extreme weather conditions, but if you must drive please make safety a priority:

- Reduce your speed
- Turn on your headlights and , if needed, your emergency lights to make yourself more visible to other drivers
- Reduce distractions – Turn off the radio. Don’t eat or drink while driving. Stay off the phone
